Pediatric Chiropractic Care
You want nothing but the very best for your child—and we do too. Pediatric chiropractic at Innate Family Chiropractic is about nurturing your child’s natural ability to grow, adapt, and thrive—before any challenges appear.
Gentle Care to Set Them Up for a Lifetime of Health
Dr. Ashley is trained in gentle prenatal techniques that honor your body’s sensitivity during pregnancy. We use special pregnancy pillows and tables designed to support your belly, so you can relax fully during each visit. As a mother of two, Dr. Ashley brings personal understanding and professional expertise to every adjustment.
Preventive Care That Grows
With Your Child
From the moment they enter the world—whether by vaginal birth or C‑section—babies can experience physical stresses that subtly impact their spine and nervous system. A gentle adjustment can help realign their body so they can start responding to life as smoothly as possible.
With babies, our technique is ultra‑light—think the same pressure you’d use to check if a tomato is ripe. It often looks like we’re just cradling them; many little ones nap right through it. Dr. Ashley adjusts her own sons every week with this same gentle care—and she promises: “I would never do anything to your child that I wouldn’t do to my own.”
For older kids who might feel nervous, we go slow and steady. We explain what we’re doing—sometimes using a teddy bear or even their hand—and always match their pace.
Nourish Their Nervous System, Naturally
-
It’s never too early to bring a baby in for their first adjustment. Both of Dr. Ashley’s sons were adjusted on the day they were born.
The process of being born, whether vaginally or through a C-section, is traumatic on a baby’s body. They are squished and moved through cramped quarters on their way to meet us.
An adjustment can move your baby’s spine back into the proper alignment so they can start taking in and responding to the world around them.
-
Adjustments are absolutely safe for babies. Dr. Ashley uses a very gentle adjusting technique. The pressure she uses is no more than you would use to check a tomato for ripeness.
Often times when we are adjusting babies, the parents will ask us “Are you adjusting them now?” The adjustment is so gentle, it just looks like we are holding the baby. Some little ones even sleep right through it.
Dr. Ashley adjusts her sons at least once per week and has been doing so since the day they were born. She reassures parents, “I would never do anything to your child that I wouldn’t do to my own.”
For older children who are nervous about being adjusted, we take great care of them as well. Dr. Ashley makes sure they are comfortable before doing anything.
“Sometimes I’ll show them what I’m going to do on a teddy bear or on their hand first. I don’t force anything. I take my time and go their speed.”

Chiropractic does the same thing for babies and kids that it does for adults. It aligns the spine so the brain-body connection can function fully. When our brain and nervous system can work at full capacity, we can adapt to our environment and our bodies thrive.
Chiropractic doesn’t “cure” or “fix” anything. But once misalignments are removed from your child’s spine, you might notice some common childhood ailments going away. That’s why parents often come to us for help with problems including:
Colic
Gas
ADHD
Allergies
Asthma
Autism spectrum disorders
Bedwetting
Difficulty breastfeeding
Seizures
Sensory processing disorders
Constipation
Ear infections
Torticollis
Baby not eating on one side
Baby seeming uncomfortable when they lie down
-
Another common reason parents bring their kids to see us is for help with ADD, ADHD, and sensory processing issues.
Problems like this arise because the child’s brain is on “go” mode. Their sympathetic nervous system is over-functioning. And the side of their nervous system that takes care of resting and digesting isn’t working well.
Chiropractic care can right that balance, allowing the two sides of their nervous system to work better together. Dr. Ashley describes it as “helping them take their foot off the gas pedal.”
When your child’s body is functioning in a balanced state, they have more capability to respond appropriately to the world around them.
